Malta’s national football team has continued to slide down in the FIFA world rankings issued yesterday. Malta fell three places to 159 and was given 133 points.

Spain remains at the top with 1369 points. The small state of Turks and Caicos places at the bottom of the list of 205 countries with 0 points.

An unexpected draw with Switzerland has helped Malta, who have made impressive progress since John Buttigieg’s 2009 appointment, climb seven places to 156th on the latest global ladder.
